While this may seem straightforward, execution requires genuine strategic thought. The Conviction Test
Perhaps the most underappreciated dimension of the NFT liquidity problem is psychological. Collectors who have held through multiple market cycles, watched their portfolios appreciate substantially, and built genuine conviction around the long-term cultural or financial value of their holdings often find it structurally difficult to sell—even when liquidity is available. The act of selling feels like a betrayal of the thesis that generated the gains in the first place.
This is not irrational, but it is worth examining honestly. Conviction is valuable; stubbornness is costly. The paradox of NFT wealth—valuable on paper, constrained in practice—is not inevitable. But resolving it requires treating exit as seriously as entry, and recognizing that the on-chain economy, for all its sophistication, has not yet fully solved the problem of turning illiquid digital assets into liquid financial outcomes.
